Göttingen is a charming university city in Lower Saxony, Germany, renowned for its rich history and vibrant academic atmosphere. The historic city center is a picturesque area filled with medieval architecture, including the impressive Old Town Hall. A notable landmark is the Gänseliesel Brunnen, a fountain featuring a statue of a goose girl, which has become a beloved symbol of the city. This statue is famously kissed by newly minted PhDs from the University of Göttingen, adding to the city’s unique traditions and cultural heritage.

The conference will be held at the Assembly Hall (Aula) on Wilhelmsplatz, right in the heart of the city center. The Aula of the Georg-August University was inaugurated in 1837 during the university’s centennial celebration. It was commissioned by King William IV of Great Britain and Hanover and built in the neoclassical style at what was then the New Market, now known as Wilhelmsplatz.

We are looking forward to welcoming you for an exciting meeting.
